Wrong Love (1v1 High H) - C5
C5 Thick-skinned
“Senior Lu, please—stay—right—there,” Wen Nuan said coldly, looking as if she were about to start a fight.
Lu Jinnan acted as though he hadn’t heard her at all. Her arm was blocking his chest, yet he behaved as if he hadn’t seen it, brushing past her arm and continuing forward.
“Hey, hey, hey! Senior Lu, I’m talking to you! At least give me some kind of reaction. Can’t you see me? Am I invisible? Am I just air to you?” Wen Nuan shouted angrily.
Lu Jinnan still showed no intention of acknowledging her and continued walking forward. Seeing that he was about to pass right by her, Wen Nuan panicked and shouted,
“Lu Jinnan, you stop right there!” Her voice was so loud that even she was startled by her own outburst.
Yet Lu Jinnan still didn’t respond, walking forward as if she didn’t exist. Wen Nuan was truly exasperated—how could a person be so utterly devoid of any warmth or consideration?
But it wasn’t entirely his fault. When he was very young, his father had an affair, even going so far as to bring the woman home for the night, completely disregarding his mother’s feelings. Unable to endure such a marriage, his mother argued and fought with his father every day, leaving not a single day of peace in the household. It was in such an environment that Lu Jinnan grew up, and his mother left him when he was still a child.
As he got older, he developed an increasing dislike for women. His childhood could be summed up in just two words: tragically miserable.
His father was always “entertaining clients” for work, leaving him neglected from an early age. No one cared about whether he was well-fed or clothed; all his daily needs were taken care of by the family’s housekeeper. He poured most of his time into his studies, using fitness equipment as an outlet for his frustrations. Whenever he had free time, he would throw himself completely into the gym.
This led to a personality that was somewhat withdrawn, solitary, and not good at conversation.
“Lu Jinnan!” Wen Nuan shouted his name again in anger.
Lu Jinnan, as though he hadn’t heard her, didn’t even glance at her. His eyes remained fixed ahead as he coldly said to the owner of the arm blocking his chest,
“Kindly move aside.”
What a person—so cold and distant. Kindly move aside? Well, today she wasn’t going to move aside.
With a tone of irritation, she said, “Lu Jinnan, aren’t you even going to ask why I’m looking for you?”
When Lu Jinnan finally stopped walking and stood there, she continued,
“I’ve been bringing you breakfast for half a month. How could you not have any sort of reaction?”
Reaction? What kind of reaction did she expect? he thought to himself. He had no intention of entertaining her. Breakfasts, love letters—those were all just her one-sided feelings. What reaction was needed? Besides, every day there were breakfasts and love letters left on his desk. He had already given all of them to other female classmates.
Having extra things appear on his desk every day was nothing unusual to him, and he had never bothered to notice who they came from.
